'Creme de marrons' or chestnut cream is my son's favorite treat. And he is not alone. Chestnut cream is the ultimate Christmas comfort food in France and can be spread on (almost) anything. Stirred into yogurt, spread on waffles, banana or used to make the traditional Christmas dessert 'buche de Noel'. You get the picture 😋. So here is how to make your own.
Homemade Chestnut Cream
250 grams /1and a half cup of cooked, peeled chestnuts (home prepared or store bought) 400 ml water 100 grams /half a cup coconut sugar 1 tsp vanilla essence
1. Place all ingredients into a pot, let simmer on low for 30 min.
2. Blend. Keep in the fridge and consume within two weeks.
