Chocolate, Cardamom and Coffee Treats



I know, I know, it's spring and we should be doing detox. Slurping dandelion leaves in smoothies and such. Well, you can drink that smoothie in the morning and have these as an afternoon snack. Not that they wouldn't be healthy for you. In fact, Cardamom has many health benefits as it is an antioxidant, a mild diuretic and may possibly have anti-cancer effect.

Chocolate, Cardamom and Coffee Treats

Ingredients:

200 grams dark chocolate

130 ml almond milk

70 grams coconut sugar

1 cardamom pod

1 espresso

60 grams mashed banana

80 grams einkorn or rice flour for gluten free version

Directions:

1. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Add almond milk and sugar.

2. Add the cardamom, espresso and mashed banana. You can also mix the ingredients in a blender.

3. Add flour and combine thoroughly in order to incorporate the flour (otherwise you might end up with lumps of flour in the dough)

4. Bake at 180 C for 15 min. Let cool and then let set in the fridge.
