Physalis, also called golden berries, remind me of autumn. These tomato-like berries are mildly acid and make a perfect cake decoration. But they have health benefits as well. In Chinese medicine, Physalis species are used to treat such conditions as abscesses, coughs, fevers, and sore throat.

Raw Banoffee Cake


The base:

200 grams of nuts (I've used a combination of macadamia and cashew nuts)

140 grams dates, soaked and pitted

1 tbsp coconut oil

The cream:

180 grams dates, soaked and pitted

150 grams unprocessed peanut butter

half of a banana

100 grams coconut oil, melted



1. In a food processor, process nuts, dates and mix with coconut oil.

2. Put the base in a small spring form and put to the freezer.

3. Combine all ingredients for the cream in a blender.

4. Put the cream on the top of the base. Put to the freezer for two hours.

5. Enjoy!
