Pumpkin Latte with Essential Oils

With colder days and the beginning of the school year, a season of colds and nose running seems inevitable. And although kids' immune system might benefit from some cold from time to time, we as parents are not so enthusiastic about running around and wiping noses all the time. Essential oils have preventive and healing properties and in many trials they have been shown to be even more effective than over the counter medication and antibiotics. My kids don't leave the house in the morning without a drop of lavender oil behind ears as lice prevention and when I hear them coughing in the evening, I use Eucalyptus EO for rubbing their chest. And when I feel a bit drained, this pumpkin latte with essential oils is my home remedy to fight off any infection.

Pumpkin Latte with Essential Oils

Ingredients

1 tbsp. pumpkin puree

1 strong espresso

1 cup of milk (any non dairy milk will work such as almond, cashew or coconut milk)

1 drop cinnamon EO (cinnamon EO is effective as a natural digestive aid, blood sugar stabilizer and circulation booster, has anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties)

1 drop clove EO (powerful anti-inflammatory properties)

1 drop turmeric EO (antibacterial, antimicrobial, antifungal, anti-parasitic, antiviral properties)

Directions

1. Put pumpkin puree in a mug. Brew espresso and add to the mug.

2. If you have a milk frother or steamer (the majority of coffee machines have one), froth the milk,, if not, blend the coffee with pumpkin puree and warm milk in a blender.

3.Add essential oils and optionally serve with a dash of cinnamon powder on the top.
