Raw energy balls



Do you spend your holidays in the mountains or on the beach? Fortunately, I don't have to decide between the two, as in Provence we have both. And as it is often unbearably hot on the beach during the summer, we often head to the mountains. Indeed, summer is a perfect time for hiking. These raw energy balls are portable and energizing as well as healthy and junk-free (meaning high-fructose corn syrup free). They are also very versatile as you can use any dried fruit or nuts imaginable.

Raw energy balls

Ingredients

100 grams/ 1 cup oats

90 grams/ 2/3 cup dried raisins or cherries, chopped

100 grams/ 2/3 cup dried figs, chopped

60 grams / 1/2 cup pistachios/almonds or walnuts, chopped

2 tbsp. of fruit juice of your choice

60 ml / 1/4 cup tahini or almond butter

1 tbsp. coconut or olive oil

1tsp cinnamon

1tsp sesame seeds

1/4 tsp salt

Directions

If you have a powerful blender, you can blend all the ingredients. If not, just mix them together in a bowl with your hands. Create small balls which you can then roll in raw cacao, sesame seeds or cinnamon. Store in the fridge.
