I come from a family of medical doctors. No matter what happened, there was always a pill for every ill. And as at medical school they don't teach you anything about nutrition, I had to search for the answers myself. After my parents were diagnosed with autoimmune disease and after giving birth to my third child, I started to be concerned about my own health. I was fat, tired and depressed. I was sitting in front of my laptop, beer in one hand, salted roasted peanuts in another, watching a free screening of some weight loss summit. One of the speakers mentioned Paleo nutrition. First, it sounded pretty odd but I had nothing to lose so I gave it a shot. I quit gluten, dairy, legumes, added sugar and I started to lose weight. Moreover, I started to feel just great! That's when my health journey started. Although Paleo diet changed my life, I believe that each of us is unique and there is not one diet that suits all of us. Whether you are paleo, vegan or pegan, the most important thing is to eat whole, fresh, organic foods.
